4th class reflection...

We were introduced to the Adobe Photoshop application in fourth class of recourses.

Adobe Photoshop, or simply Photoshop, is a graphics editing program developed and published byAdobe Systems. It is the current and primary market leader for commercial bitmap and imagemanipulation, and is the flagship product of Adobe Systems. It has been described as "an industry standard for graphics professionals" and was one of the early "killer applications" on Macintosh.

Photoshop CS3, the current tenth iteration of the program, was released on 16 April 2007. "CS" reflects its integration with other Creative Suiteproducts, and the number "3" represents it as the third version released since Adobe re-branded its products under the CS umbrella. Photoshop CS3 features additions such as the ability to apply non-destructive filters, as well as new selection tools named Quick Selection and Refine Edge that make selection more streamlined. On April 30th, Adobe released Photoshop CS3 Extended, which includes all the same features of Adobe Photoshop CS3 with the addition of capabilities for scientific imaging, 3D, and high end film and video users. The successor to Photoshop CS3, Photoshop CS4, will be the first 64-bit Photoshop on consumer microcomputers.

Features

Photoshop has strong ties with other Adobe software for media editing, animation, and authoring. Files in Photoshop's native format, .PSD, can be exported to and from Adobe ImageReadyAdobe IllustratorAdobe Premiere ProAfter Effects, and Adobe Encore DVD to make professional standard DVDs and provide non-linear editing and special effects services, such as backgrounds, textures, and so on, for television, film, and the Web. For example, Photoshop CS broadly supports making menus and buttons for DVDs. For .PSD files exported as a menu or button, it only needs to have layers, nested in layer sets with a cuing format, and Adobe Encore DVD reads them as buttons or menus.

Photoshop can utilize the color models RGBlabCMYKgrayscale, binary bitmap, and duotone. Photoshop has the ability to read and write raster and vector image formats such as: .EPS, .PNG, .GIF, .JPEG, Fireworks, etc. It also has several native file formats:

The .PSD (Photoshop Document) format stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop. These include layers with masks, color spacesICC profiles, transparency, text, alpha channels and spot colorsClipping paths, and duotone settings. This is in contrast to many other file formats (e.g. .EPS or .GIF) that restrict content to provide streamlined, predictable functionality. Photoshop's popularity means that the .PSD format is widely used, and it is supported to some extent by most competing software.

The .PSB (Large Document Format) format is a newer version of .PSD designed for files over 2gigabytes. The .PDD (PhotoDeluxe Document) format is a version of .PSD that only supports the features found in the discontinued PhotoDeluxe software.

In my opinion, the software (adobe Photoshop) was remarkable. By using this software, I can add effect on the picture such as put a frame on, enhance beauty-from blur picture to clear picture and many more. I have lot of fun using this sotware eventhough at first, i found it quite hard to work on the editing process using this software...thank to my friends for teaching me using this software..thank guys ;)

Here’s the link for resources for Adobe Photoshop users including tips, tutorials, free downloads, actions, plug-ins, training and support.

Those who wants to know or learn more about Adobe Photoshop, you can log in to this website..happy learning guys!!!

Before the class ended, the lecturer gives us a task which was to edit any photo and upload it to the photo bucket and I managed to do it on time.

Here are some of my edited pictures.

third class reflection...

The topic of the third class was on the photo editing which I considered quite difficult for a new user like me….ermmm (sigh) but still I think it is interesting to learn…(hopefully)…

Some of the important criteria for choosing good photo-editing software were addressed by the lecturer such as easy to use (user friendly) and many more…

Then, we were given notes on development of the young language learner. Presentation of topics was conducted by six different groups representing six different sub-topics in topic of “working with Young Learner”. Every group has their own style in presenting their work thus make the learning process more interesting and interactive…

Second Class reflection...

After delayed for a few time at last I managed to write my reflection about recourses class…

Here I am, writing my reflection for the second class of resources. We were introduced to the assignment for this course which is blogging particularly on reflection of the class activity (teaching and learning process) and the other assignment is about portfolio whereby we need to find any relevant resources (text, software, pictures) that can be use in teaching and learning process in the classroom. About the blogging part, I wonder why we need to have a blog? Then, I realized, through blogging, we can share information with other people around the world. Let say if I have something to share about then I will post it to my blog and I expected other people to read it. Once people read things that I posted, they will give comment or share their opinion. So, from here, we can see that blogging plays as agent of interaction whereby can interact with others by sharing thought and opinion…

By the way, I learnt new thing today which was on how to download videos from youtube using the keepvid website. Before this I really do not know how to download video from youtube… huhuhu.. What a shame!!! hehehe… I am really thanked to my friend who taught me about this. Thank guys...

The first lesson on PBEY3102

Hmmm... The first lesson on PKEY3101...
I would say, I like this course, and I believe I'll love it as it goes on. I think through this couse lot of thing can be explore n learn...
Well, before entering this class, I was worried that this 3-hours class will be dull, sleepy and bored. Fortunately, it was not! Instead, I enjoyed it since it was rather relaxing! We had a brainstrom sessions where we talked, thought, shared ideas througout the lesson such "Blogging" and "Technology" Eventhough m nope a techno savvy person, but I enjoyed the disscussion. Lots of new info i got from the disscussion such as on how to download a video from youtube..Before this, i don't know on how to download video from youtube..huhuhu...
One thing that i like most about this course is the lecturer herself. Puan Foziah. To me, she's a techno savvy person. Lot of things she knew especially about technology- from software to hardware- where to download this and that, what software must we use when we want to edit picture/sounds and etc..its all about techology.....seem dat lot of things i can learn from her...
In short, I enjoyed the first class session and i'm looking forward to the next class to learn new input plus to explore new things....
