7th class reflection...

As usual another task was given…This week we were given one task and also assignment 2. I choose to do the task individually.  I have to create an E-book for primary school pupils. I choose the topic entitle ‘body part’. Lecturer reminded us that a few things we need to consider when we create an E-book so that the E-book became effective. The effective features of E-book are consist of colourful and clear picture, the size and type of font must be appropriate for primary school pupils which is Comic San Ms, and ect….

For assignment 2 which be done in pairs, was about manipulation of videos which were Michael Jackson’s Earth song and other suitable video for children (we can choose what ever video that suitable for primary pupils) and uses them for teaching and learning process in the classroom. We need to describe on how to use the videos and its rationale of doing so. This second assignment challenges me a lot (sigh) because it required me and my partner to come out with a creative teaching recourses based on the video…Well, here, creative and Critical thinking took place whereby we need to give a rationale why we created such activity for the pupils. I’m realized that this task was to prepare me as teacher to be in manipulating recourses that available in our surrounding to be used in the classroom.  We have to think creative in order to produce interactive and interesting teaching recourses/teaching aids.

6th class reflections

What is Video Editing?

The six class was particularly about video editing.. It was an interesting topic to learnt.. Who knows by learning this skill I will become an expertise in audio editing….hahaha (what a POYOO statement…) well, what is video editing actually? Video editing is the process of manipulating and rearranging video shots to create a new work. Editing is usually considered to be one part of the post production process — other post-production tasks include titling, colour correction, sound mixing, etc.

Many people use the term editing to describe all their post-production work, especially in non-professional situations. Whether or not you choose to be picky about terminology is up to you. Usually, the word editing to mean any of the following:

·        Rearranging, adding and/or removing sections of video clips and/or audio  clips.

·        Applying colour correction, filters and other enhancements.

·        Creating transitions between clips.

The Goals of Editing

There are many reasons to edit a video and your editing approach will depend on the desired outcome. Before you begin you must clearly define your editing goals, which could include any of the following:

Remove unwanted footage

This is the simplest and most common task in editing. Many videos can be dramatically improved by simply getting rid of the flawed or unwanted bits.

Choose the best footage

It is common to shoot far more footage than you actually need and choose only the best material for the final edit. Often you will shoot several versions (takes) of a shot and choose the best one when editing.

Create a flow

Most videos serve a purpose such as telling a story or providing information. Editing is a crucial step in making sure the video flows in a way which achieves this goal.

Add effects, graphics, music, etc

This is often the "wow" part of editing. You can improve most videos (and have a lot of fun) by adding extra elements.

Alter the style, pace or mood of the video

A good editor will be able to create subtle mood prompts in a video. Techniques such as mood music and visual effects can influence how the audien will react.

Give the video a particular "angle"

Video can be tailored to support a particular viewpoint, impart a message or serve an agenda.

For this week, work in group, we were required to download episodes of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, a famous television programmed from 8TV. The task required us to download the original episode, combining the episode into one and extracting the important part of the video…woooo….sound soooo complicated….hopefully, I and my group do not get any difficulty in doing this task…

Here’s the link for free video editing software. You can choose what ever video editing software you want to use.

When I am doing this task, I had tried some editing video software and I found out that Cyberlink Power Director was the best ever software for video editing. It really user friendly and we can make lot of effect using this software..

5th class reflection...

5th class reflection

What is "Audio"?

Audio means "of sound" or "of the reproduction of sound". Specifically, it refers to the range of frequencies detectable by the human ear — approximately 20Hz to 20kHz. It's not a bad idea to memorise those numbers — 20Hz is the lowest-pitched (bassiest) sound we can hear, 20kHz is the highest pitch we can hear.

Audio work involves the production, recording, manipulation and reproduction of sound waves. To understand audio you must have a grasp of two things:

Sound Waves: What they are, how they are produced and how we hear them.

Sound Equipment: What the different components are, what they do, how to choose the correct equipment and use it properly.

Well, that a brief idea on what we learnt in this week which is audio editing.... For this week, I had given an assignment about audio editing. Wow!!! What an interesting assignment, I would say..I am looking forward to do this assignment because I can just be like a composer whereby I can edit the song, lower their tone or pitching and etc…

Here’s some link that may help you in mastering audio editing software:
